Tourism is the Future: Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu Unveils Seaplane Tourism Initiative
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is setting his sights on a tourism-led future for the state. "The future belongs to tourism alone," he stated, emphasizing that traditional industries may soon take a backseat as a new, tourism-centered economy takes shape in Andhra Pradesh. Marking this shift, the state has taken a pioneering step, becoming the first in India to introduce seaplane tourism.
On Saturday, CM Naidu inaugurated the state’s seaplane tourism demo in Vijayawada, with the inaugural flight taking off from Punnami Ghat, heading to the sacred town of Srisailam. Union Minister for Civil Aviation, Ram Mohan Naidu, along with other dignitaries from both central and state governments, joined the Chief Minister for this milestone event.
In his address, Naidu highlighted seaplane travel as an exciting new addition to Andhra Pradesh's tourism offerings. He pointed out that, much like IT once did, seaplanes and similar innovations could eventually transform the state’s connectivity options. “When IT began, many were skeptical, but now our people are leaving a mark worldwide. We must keep pushing forward with innovation,” he remarked, adding that seaplanes could eventually work alongside traditional airports to enhance connectivity within the state.
Reflecting on his ongoing efforts to revitalize Andhra Pradesh, Naidu noted, “We’re rebuilding a system that was once in disarray, aiming for rapid, noticeable improvements. Roads that were once mocked have now become symbols of our progress. We’re committed to restoring Andhra Pradesh’s brand and bringing pride back to our state.”
