Arun Jaitley's Condition is Critical
Former finance minister Arun Jaitley, who was admitted to AIIMS on August 9, is in a critical position now. Home minister Amit Shah and health minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan rushed to the hospital on Friday. AIIMs didn’t reveal any health report of Arun Jaitley after he joining in the hospital last Friday. “Union Home Minister Amit Shah leaves from AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) where BJP leader and former Union Minister Arun Jaitley is admitted. Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan is still present at the hospital,” a popular news website tweeted.
PM Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, MoS for Health Ashwini Choubey, BJP working president J P Nadda and Loktantrik Janata Dal chief Sharad Yadav had also visited Jaitley last week. Jaitley was admitted to AIIMS for treatment this May and again on August 9th, he admitted into hospital as his condition is bad. And now, it got worse. Jaitley is a lawyer by profession but he had played a crucial part in Narendra Modi's Cabinet during his first tenure as prime minister.
He held the finance and defense portfolios often. As his health is not well, Jaitley did not contest the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. In September 2014, he underwent bariatric surgery to manage his weight which he gained because of a diabetic condition. He had undergone renal transplant on May 14 last year and Piyush Goyal replaced him in the finance ministry at that time. Jaitley had stopped going to office since early April 2018 and was back in the finance ministry on August 23, 2018.
