A cop in the Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh is creating awareness by riding a horse painted with coronavirus symbols.
Sub-inspector Maruthi Shankar is on a mission to create awareness among the public on novel coronavirus. He could be seen riding a white horse with red spots, parading up and down the streets, making loudspeaker announcements on COVID-19 awareness.
Maruthi Shankar was inspired by the Prime Minister, AP chief minister and his superiors in the police department and took it as his duty to aware people of this crisis.
“The villagers would understand if I say that if they are not careful, coronavirus will spread faster than a horse can gallop. The red spots on the white horse depict the coronavirus,” Sankar said.
Earlier, a cop in Chennai made it to headlines as he wore corona helmets while interacting with the ones who violated the 21-days lockdown rules and told them the harmful effects of this virus. Cops in Bengaluru were also seen wearing similar helmets and play-acting a skit on the road where two helmet-clad cops played the part of the virus.
However, people criticized him on social media for abusing an animal. One of the Twitter users even wrote that he should be suspended for Ill-treating the horse and violence against animals.
