Off Shore, Casinos To Shut Down
The casinos which are currently anchored in the Mandovi River, in Panaji had been sanctioned a six-month extension from the state government, in March, this year. Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant is ready to close down those if BJP government demands.
There are six casinos at the Mandovi River in Panaji, but there has been a demand from a section of some people to shift these vessels from the shore to elsewhere. These casinos function from five-star hotels, Vinay Tendulkar, BJP unit president on Tuesday submitted a letter to the current working government. The letter demanded that these offshore casinos should be closed.
The Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant reported that his government will consider the request of shutting off these casinos on the state BJP unit’s request, he further added that he, Sawant received the letter sent by Tendulkar and will consider the presentation and act accordingly.
