Congrats to Hokato Hotozhe Sema on winning bronze at the Paris Paralympics, PM Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Hokato Hotozhe Sema's tremendous power and perseverance for the sport as he sent his sincere congratulations on Saturday for winning the Bronze medal at the ongoing Paralympics in Paris.
In the men's shot put F57 final on Saturday, Hokato Hotozhe Sema of India won Bronze with a remarkable throw that was a personal best of 14.65 meters.
The Prime Minister took to his X account to celebrate the Paralympian's accomplishment and referred to it as a "proud moment" for the country.
"A great moment for our country when Men's Shotput F57 Bronze Medalist Hokato Hotozhe Sema carries home the trophy! His extraordinary strength and resolve are remarkable.

Amit Shah, the home minister, also congratulated the Paralympian for reaching a significant milestone.
"Hokato Sema achieved a significant accomplishment by taking home the bronze in the Paralympic Games' Men's Shot Put F57 competition in 2024. The nation is proud of your unshakable determination and outstanding performance," the Home Minister wrote on his X account.
With a throw of 15.96 meters, Iranian athlete Yashin Khosravi earned the gold medal, and Thiago Paulino dos Santos of Brazil took home the silver with a 15.06-meter throw.
At the current Paralympics, Indian para-athletes have been excelling, taking home three Gold, six Silver, and six Bronze medals, for a total of 15 medals for the country.
With six gold, nine silver, and twelve bronze medals from the current competition, India's total medal count stands at 27. With this accomplishment, India has outperformed itself at the Paralympics, winning five gold medals in Tokyo 2020.
