South Africa Defeat India by 76 Runs in T20 World Cup Super 8
South Africa registered a commanding 76-run victory over India in the Super 8 stage of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
After winning the toss, South Africa posted a competitive 187 for 7 in 20 overs. David Miller led the charge with a powerful 63 off 35 balls, supported by Dewald Brevis (45) and Tristan Stubbs (44 not out). Their partnerships stabilized the innings after early setbacks, allowing the Proteas to accelerate in the final overs.
India’s bowling attack saw Jasprit Bumrah claim three wickets, while Arshdeep Singh picked up two. However, costly middle overs allowed South Africa to build momentum.
In response, India faltered under pressure and were bowled out for 111 in 18.5 overs. Shivam Dube top-scored with 42, but the rest of the batting order struggled. Keshav Maharaj’s decisive spell, including three wickets in a single over, triggered a collapse that sealed the result.
The defeat raises concerns about India’s batting consistency in high-pressure matches, while South Africa strengthened their semi-final prospects with a clinical all-round display.
