ISRO Chief Break Down, Modi Consoles!
India’s attempt to soft land Chandrayaan-2's Vikram module on the lunar surface was failed, but not completely, as every Indian thinks that ISRO has achieved 95 per cent of the success! People are giving moral support to ISRO scientists, asking them not to get discouraged as they worked very hard. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and opposition leader Rahul Gandhi asked ISRO scientists to not get disheartened. Modi said that there will be a better tomorrow. “We came very close but we need to cover more ground in future. Learning from today will make us stronger and better. India is proud of our space program and scientists. The best is yet to come in our space program. There are new frontiers to discover and new places to go to. India is with you,” Modi said.
“Effort was worth it and so was the journey. It will make us stronger and better. There will be a new dawn and better tomorrow… I am with you, the nation is with you,” Modi added. “Congratulations to the team at #ISRO for their incredible work on the Chandrayaan 2 Moon Mission. Your passion & dedication is an inspiration to every Indian. Your work is not in vain. It has laid the foundation for many more path breaking & ambitious Indian space missions,” tweeted Rahul Gandhi.
ISRO Chief has broke down and cried, while Modi hugged him and consoled. “This is just so heartbreaking. Kailasavadivoo Sivan, the #ISRO Chief breaks down while meeting the Prime Minister during his departure today. India is proud of you all, Sivan Sir! #Chandrayaan is a success story. It has done the unthinkable,” former senior editor of Times now tweeted, sharing the video.
ISRO’s plan to launch Vikram near the Moon's the South Pole didn’t go according to the plan as the lander lost communication with ground stations during its final descent.
