Telangana Woman Rides A Scooter 1,400 Km To Bring Back Son Stranded In AP
A mother’s love can never shed off and Razia Begum, a government teacher in Bodhan town of Nizamabad district is a living example of this.
Razia Begum, aged 50 and who hails from Telangana’s Nizamabad district travelled on a two-wheeler to Nellore 700 km away to pick up her teen son stuck in Andhra Pradesh due to the COvid-19 lockdown.
Razia Begum made a departure on Monday morning armed with local police permission and rode to Nellore and returned with her younger son on Wednesday evening.
His son Mohammad Nizamuddin has completed intermediate and is undergoing coaching at a medical academy in Hyderabad. But soon after the lockdown announcement, she started worrying about him which led her to rode 1,400 on a two-wheeler to being him back.
Razia took help form Bodhan ACP Jaipal Reddy and explained the situation. Jaipal Reddy granted a pass to Razia and she could then ride across districts to bring his son back.
“I was stopped at several check posts and later permitted after showing the pass,” she said.
She also had am elder son but she didn’t send him to bring his younger son back as she felt that police might mistake him for a wanderer. After initially considering taking a car, she discarded the idea and chose her two-wheeler and rode to Nellore soon after.
