16 New Cases Recorded In Andhra Pradesh
The number of coronavirus cases in Andhra Pradesh climbed to 180 after 16 new cases were reported in the state on Saturday.
Fresh cases were reported in Krishna, Guntur, Kadapa, Kurnool, Chittoor and Prakasam districts and most of these are linked to the religious congregation held by the Tabligh-e-Jamat at Nizamuddin in New Delhi.
On Friday, the state had reported its first-ever death from novel coronavirus after a 55-year-old man succumbed to COVID-19 in Vijayawada.
Till now, 1800 samples have been tested in Andhra. Out of these, 180 samples were tested coronavirus positive while results for 445 samples are pending. A total of 1175 samples were tested negative.
However, the first four patients have since recovered and have been discharged out of the hospital. Presently, the Nellore district has the highest number of positive cases with 32 being the number. It is followed by Krishna (27), Guntur (23), Kadapa (23), Prakasam (18), West Godavari (15), Visakhapatnam (15), East Godavari (11), Chittoor (10), Kurnool (4), Anantapur (2). Vizianagaram and Srikakulam reported no case.
