3 Golden Crowns Studded With Diamonds Stolen From Tirupati Temple
The crowns which adorned the statues of deities Lord Venkateswara, Sri Lakshmi and Sri Padmavathi at an ancient shrine inside the temple complex has been missing.
On Saturday this incident came to light whereby 3 gold crowns were missing from the temple. The crowns were around 1.3 kg in weight.
The temple was closed at around 5 pm for the devotees. The temple priests, however, noticed diamond studded golden crowns were missing at around 5.45 pm when they opened the temple to perform the daily rituals.
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has also filed a complaint with police who have started a probe are examining the CCTV footage. However, no arrest is been made yet.
