The Andhra Pradesh government has given a clear chit to 33 students who were stranded since they left for Italy a month ago.
The group, which includes five girl students, arrived from Italy on March 15 in Delhi. They would be now carried by a bus to reach their home safely.
After they landed in India, they were immediately quarantined for 14 days at Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) camp at Chhawla and had to spent another 12 days there.
AP Chief Secretary Neelam Sawhney and DGP Gautam Sawang spoke to the authorities in Chhattisgarh and facilitated these students’ entry into the state. They have been now permitted to leave and reach their homes safely after having a final medical check-up at the camp base.
The students will be reaching Visakhapatnam via Raipur and Jagadalpur by a special bus. However, they had started their journey to their homes a long time back but the bus was stopped in Chhattisgarh for alleged lockdown violations. Following it, they were taken to a Government school and spent a whole day there. However, the bus released on Sunday evening.
