600 H1-B Visa Employees To Receive “Back Payments”!
In an Investigation done by the Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division, Populus group failed to pay the wages during the holidays at work. An American service company has been asked to pay back wages to H1-B visa Employees.
The company based in Troy, Michigan, Populus Group is going to go through current and past records of the payrolls to make sure that they follow the departmental instructions.
The amount of the payback is about $ 1.1 million to nearly 600 H1-B visa employees in which there are a number of highly-skilled IT professionals from India. The H1-B foreign labor certification is for allowing American Companies to hire expert professionals in their respective fields.
It is a compulsion for a Company, to attest the department that they are paying the actual wages as US professionals to the hired H1-B visa non-immigrant workers, wherein the experience and the technical expertise of both do not differ.
