It is said earlier that Indian Air Force pilot Abhinandan will be returned to India at 2 PM on Friday, but it got very delayed by 7 and 1/2 hours nearly as he crossed over the Wagah border post at 9.20 pm.
“The reason for our Wing Commander delay is that Pakistan asked him to record a statement on camera before he was allowed to cross the border,” sources revealed.
This video was released on Pakistan’s official Twitter account, Radio Pakistan with several jumps and cuts which made people doubt that it was a heavily edited video and they are many false statements in it.
One Twitter user noticed that 24-minute 24-second long video has 17 cuts and jumps, further requesting people not to share the video.
Also, IAF said that Abhinandan shot down an F-16 but that is not mentioned in the video recorded by Pakistan.
The Pakistan government released the pilot's video message to the local media at 8.30 PM in which Abhinandan explained how he was captured.
In the video, Abhinandan explained that he was in search of his target when PAF shot him down, “I had to eject the plane which had sustained damage,” he said.
He even praised the professionalism of the Pakistani army for saving him from the mob that first apprehended him in the video.
As the Pakistan government has faced criticism and backlash because of sharing this video, they removed it from their Twitter official account later.
