Even after shutting down all its operations based on the guidelines from the state and central government, Tirupati based multi-national company Amara Raja Group has announced a donation of 6 crores to CM Jagan’s relief fund on Monday.
Also contributing to Telangana CM Relief Fund in the government’s efforts against the deadly virus, they have made a donation of Rs one crore for the good work.
The Amara Raja Group has a strong presence in the automotive battery business and infrastructure among others. Amara Raja Group is known for its automotive battery brand Amaron, the second-largest selling automotive battery brand in India after Exide.
The relief fund cheques were handed over to AP CM office through the district collector Narayana Bharath Gupta, by Ramachandra N Galla, chairman of Amara Raja Group, along with Ramadevi Gourineni, managing director, Amara Raja Infrastructure and G. Vijaya Naidu, president (group quality and HSE).
Apart from this, Jayadev Galla, the Lok Sabha MP for Guntur and managing director and vice-chairman of the Amara Raja group also pledged to deploy Rs 2.5 crores from his MPLADS funds towards combating Covid-19 in his parliamentary constituency.
