American Sikh Stabbed to Death, Suspect Arrested
In a shocking & gruesome incident, a 64-yr-old Sikh man from India was stabbed to death in Gretchen Talley Park in Tracy, CA.
According to reports, Parmjit Singh was taking a routine night walk near Tracy’s Gretchen Talley Park when he was brutally attacked by an unknown person around 9 Pm on Sunday, he later died from his injuries.
A passerby spotted the man bleeding on the ground and informed the police & they started homicide investigation.
After this shocking incident, the mayor and police chief talked with the Sikh community to calm fears as some residents & members of Tracy's Sikh community are deeply shocked and worried Singh may have been attacked because he was Sikh. In August 2018, two similar incidents took place in which one of the Sikh was stabbed to death & another Sikh man was attacked in the US state.
Police said they cannot say if it was a hate crime and will actively investigating all the possibilities. The Tracy police department on Friday released an evidence video around the time of the fatal stabbing asking the public's help in identifying the man caught on CCTV camera.
On Thursday, Family of Parmjit Singh and the Community announced $20,000 reward gathered through community donations for information to anyone leading to the arrest of the suspect.
Speeding the investigation, the Tracy Police On Saturday, arrested the suspect Kreiter-Rhoads, 21, based on the warrant and detectives conducted a search of his residence for more information. As of now, there is no significant information to the motive of this crime and focus of the investigation is still in progress, said Police.
