CJI Ranjan Gogoi cleared of charges of sexual harassment by Supreme court
Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi has been cleared of the allegations of sexual harassment by the supreme court. The supreme court said that "The in-house inquiry committee has found no substance in the allegations in the complaint dated April 19 of a former employee of the Supreme Court".
What were the allegations on Mr. Gogoi?
A married woman had alleged that on 10 and 11 October the chief justice pressed his body against her in his offices. He hugged her around the waist and touched her all over her body with his arms until she physically pushed him away.
Mr. Gogoi had however rejected the allegations stating that he doesn't want to stoop so low to answer these charges.
