COVID-19: Telangana Crosses The 400 Mark
The number of coronavirus cases in Telangana continues to rise as 40 people were found to be infected with the virus on Tuesday, taking the total to 404 in the state.
What is more shocking is that a 23-day-old baby is among the 40 fresh cases of COVID-19 reported in Telangana. Most of them are related to the Tablighi Jamaat congregation held in Delhi.
However, these religious congregation attendees and their contacts are being tracked, tested and treated for COVID-19. Also, there has been no evidence of community transmission of the virus in the state, as reported by Health and Family Welfare.
Hyderabad has reported the most number of cases till date in Telangana. Out of the 404 COVID-19 positive cases, Hyderabad reported 171 cases so far, followed by Nizamabad with 36 cases.
Warangal (Urban) has reported 24 positive cases out of which one COVID-19 positive patient has recovered and was discharged while rest of the 23 are active cases.
In Telangana, 45 people have been discharged (after recovery) and 11 others have died due to the virus.
