Collegium Prescribes Justices Gavai, Surya Kant's Names for Height to SC
The Supreme Court Collegium has suggested the names of Justices B.R. Gavai and Surya Kant to the Union government for their rise as summit court judges.
Justice Gavai is directly a judge of the Bombay High Court and Justice Kant is the occupant Chief Justice of the Himachal Pradesh High Court.
According to the Collegium proposal transferred on the top court's site, the five-part Collegium headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi met on Wednesday and suggested these two names for their height as Supreme Court judges.
Against the endorsed strength of 31 judges, the zenith court is by and by working with 27 judges.
