Guatemalan Mother’s Plight To Enter US
A mother and son were captured by a photographer, who could be seen begging a Mexican National Guard soldier to get entry to the US. They have traveled all the way to the US from their home country of Guatemala to the border city of Ciudad Juarez. The distance they covered is around 1500 miles.
The lady named as Lety Perez, was on her knees, covering her face and weeping in front of the soldier. Her six-year-old son constantly glared at him. Their unfortunate situation to be stopped just a foot from the border was captured in the photo by Jose Gonzalez.
Gonzalez quoted, “The woman begged and pleaded with the National Guard to let them cross. She said she wanted to cross to give a better future to her young son Anthony Diaz. But the soldier replied that he is just following orders.”
This photo also tells the role of Mexican guards to stop migration from Central America. Migrants count to the US dropped to one-third in June after Mexico deployed 21000 troops at its borders.
