Highest Remittance Recipient India

India retained its position as the world's top recipient of remittance with an obscene sending of a whopping $79 billion back home in 2018, on Monday the World Bank remarked.

Over the last three years, India has registered a significant flow of remittance from $62.7 billion in 2016 to $65.3 billion in 2017.

India has retained its top spot on remittances, according to the latest report.

Remittances grew by more than 14 per cent in India, where different disasters including the flooding in Kerala, might have boosted the immigrants to allow the cash flow for the families in disgrace.

India is followed by China ($67 billion), Mexico ($36 billion), the Philippine’s ($34 billion) and Egypt ($29 billion) according to the global tender.

There was a report that low and middle-income countries have reached a high record in 2018 with an increase of 9.6 % over the previous record high of 2017. And the overall global remittance which included the flow from high-income countries has reached $689 billion in 2018 up from 633$ in 2017.
