Hitec City-Ameerpet metro route ready to be commissioned
The 10-km Ameerpet-Hitec City stretch of Corridor-III which was supposed to start by December last year is finally ready and will soon be available to the public.
Trail runs have already begun on the route and CMRS team is inspecting the line to issue the safety certification from Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS).
The 10-km line between Ameerpet to Hitec City will have eight stations -- Madhura Nagar, Yousufguda, Jubilee Hills Road no. 5, Jubilee Hills check post, Pedammagudi, Madhapur, Durgamcheruvu, Hitec City and will take around 16 minutes to travel.
Once operational, this will complete the two full metro lines of the proposed 72 km, three corridors elevated metro rail project. The project was being implemented by the construction major L&T under the public, private partnership mode, with viability gap funding from the Centre, has been adjudged as the best urban mass transit project by the Centre.
