Hyderabad Awarded The Best Mega City In Citizen Feedback

Early in the Thursday morning, Swachh Survekshan survey 2020 list was released in which different cities were awarded for various categories.

The Centre awarded Indore as the cleanest city in the nation on Thursday at the Swachh Survekshan Awards, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has been awarded the No.1 rank in the “Best Mega City in Citizen Feedback”.

The Centre has lauded Hyderabad for some of the innovative steps taken for the convenience and betterment of its people. These include Green Kiosks, India’s first exclusive Dog Park, twin bins made from recycled plastic and also the Feed the Need initiative.

Mayor Bonthu Rammohan took to Twitter to announce the big moment for the people of Hyderabad. He wrote, “Happy to share this year GHMC bagged the Best Mega city in Citizens feedback in above 40 lakh population. Also we are in 23 position in Swachh Survekshan rankings as against 35 in 2019.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday also congratulated the winners of SwachhSurvekshan survey 2020 by tweeting, “Congratulations to all those cities who have secured top positions in #SwachhSurvekshan2020. May other cities also be inspired to further ramp up their efforts towards ensuring cleanliness. Such competitive spirit strengthens the Swachh Bharat Mission and benefits millions.”
