Hyderabad police on Monday launched its free ‘Last Ride Service’ to facilitate the transport of Covid and non Covid-19 bodies in the city.
City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar, after launching the programme, said that the service would be extended to the poor and needy people. The service will be operated by Hyderabad City Police and by the members of ‘Feed the Needy’ organization.
To avail the service, people could call on 7995404040 or 8499843545 between 8 am and 6 pm every day. Police or the organization members would take immediate step to help the needy so that they don’t face any inconvenience.
“As per scientific procedure, the body will be shifted to the place of destination. After every ride, the vehicle will be sanitized. A driver and an assistant wearing PPE kits will be available with the vehicle,” Anjani Kumar said.
With 1,473 new cases, the total Covid-19 count in Telangana has reached 55,532 including 12,955 active cases. While 42,106 recoveries have been reported in the state so far, the death toll stands at 471.
