Hyderabad gets relief from intense heatwave
Residents of Hyderabad finally experienced relief from weeks of intense summer heat after overnight rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds brought monsoon-like weather conditions to the city.
Temperatures had recently crossed 42 and even 43 degrees Celsius in some areas, making daily life difficult for people across Hyderabad. However, weather conditions changed dramatically after midnight on Tuesday, when dark clouds, thunder, and strong winds moved into the city.
Continuous showers through the night cooled the atmosphere and transformed the weather by Wednesday morning. Cloudy skies and a pleasant chill replaced the harsh heat that had dominated the city for weeks.
According to the Telangana State Development Planning Society, moderate rainfall was recorded in several locations, with Malkajgiri receiving the highest rainfall of 2.4 cm. Residents expressed happiness and relief on social media, describing the weather as refreshing and similar to the monsoon season.
For many people, the overnight rain marked the first significant showers of the season after a prolonged dry spell. The change not only lowered temperatures but also improved the overall mood of the city, giving people a much-needed break from the exhausting heatwave conditions that had persisted throughout recent weeks.
