ISIS Claims Responsibility for Sri Lanka Blasts
The Islamic state on Tuesday claimed responsibility for devasting suicide attacks happened in Sri Lanka two days before in church on Easter that took away the lives of 321 people and wounded more than 500.
"Those who carried out the attack that targeted members of the US-led coalition and Christians in Sri Lanka the day before yesterday is Islamic State group fighters," the terror group said in a statement.
Seven suicide bombers carried out 6 blasts with short intervals and then again, another blast after two hours shocked everyone.
40 suspects including the driver of a van allegedly used by the suicide bombers have been arrested.
Initially, Government's spokesman Rajitha Senaratne said local Islamist extremist group called “National Tawheed Jamath (NTJ)” was suspected of plotting the blasts, before ISIS claimed the attack.
