In California, a brave Telugu man died while rescuing his son.
An Indian-American father of two lost his life while attempting to save one of his sons who was being carried away by a strong tide at Panther Beach in Santa Cruz, California, where he had taken his kids for a day out.
Unfortunately, Srinivasa Murthy Jonnalagadda, a Telugu man, had no swimming skills. But he raced to rescue his 12-year-old son when he noticed that a large wave had struck him and was struggling to escape the water. A riptide carried him farther into the ocean at that point.
While his family shouted and watched him die, Srinivasa was dragged deeper into the sea despite being able to save his son with the assistance of another person. CPR was performed on Srinivasa after emergency services arrived on the scene and were able to extract him. He was flown to the hospital in a California Patrol helicopter.
But when he got to Stanford Hospital, he died from his wounds. Members of several law enforcement organizations, including State Parks, the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office, and Santa Cruz Fire, saved Srinivasa.
To help his family through these difficult times and pay for funeral costs, medical bills, and other unforeseen financial demands, a GoFundMe page has been created.
