Indian Railways Converts Train Coaches Into Isolation Wards!

The population of India is one of the biggest reasons for the fight against the Coronavirus becoming tough for the country! The scarcity of isolation wards and lack of medical equipment are worrying the government and people as well, for quite some time now. Many people including a few actors suggested the government to change train coaches into isolation wards so that people wouldn’t face the scarcity of beds.

It seems the government was impressed with the idea. The Indian Railways have announced the conversion of train coaches into isolation wards for COVID-19 patients! Also, it ensured the clean, sanitized and hygienic surroundings for the patients to recover soon. One prototype has been already converted into the isolation ward. If the prototype is finalized, the ministry will plan the same for every zone.

According to the sources, 10 railway coaches per week will be converted into isolation wards. To construct an isolation cabin prototype for COVID19 patients, the middle berth has been removed from one side of the coach while all three berths have been removed in front of the patient’s berth.

All ladders for climbing up the berths have also been removed. The bathrooms, aisle areas, and other areas have also been modified to prepare the isolation coach. While most of the people are praising the step, some are saying that it is not a safe environment to treat the patients.
