India's ASAT missile test created 400 debris - Poses danger to ISS
India's Mission Shakti which had shot down its ken satellite orbiting at ground 300 km from Earth has been condemned by the NASA.
India with it had flaunted its ability and the foreign ministry had said that the debris of the missile test will eventually decay and fall back to earth within weeks.
However, NASA administrator Jim Bridenstine, the US space agency's highest-ranked official, said the anti-satellite test created about 400 pieces of orbital debris out of which only 60 were big enough to be able to be tracked.
He called it a “terrible thing” saying that it might pose dangers for astronauts aboard the International Space Station.
