India’s Covid-19 Cases Near 30,000-Mark, Death Toll At 937

The total number of Covid-19 cases in the country surged to 29,974 on Tuesday evening, as 1,594 cases and 51 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.

Death toll increased by 51 to 937 while 7,026 people have been discharged or cured from the virus. According to the data released by Health Ministry, 21,632 cases are active in India and the recovery rate has increased close to 23 percent.

No new cases of coronavirus has been reported from 17 districts in last 28 days. Also, the current doubling rate of Covid-19 cases now stands at 10.2 days.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra continues to record the highest number of positive cases with 8,590 cases, followed by Gujarat at 3,548 cases, Delhi at 3,108 cases and Madhya Pradesh at 2,368 cases.

States like Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh reported more than 1,000 cases so far since the virus outbreak.

Globally, the virus has affected more than 3 million people and has killed over 210,000 in global pandemic.
