Infosys Employee Arrested For ‘Spread The Virus’ Social Media Post
City Crime Branch (CCB) arrested an Infosys employee after him spreading a social media post that says ‘go and out and sneeze and spread the dreadful COVID19’. The virus till now has taken many lives all over the world. The situation in India too is getting worse, even after the lock-down of the country. At this critical moment, Mujeeb Mohammad has urged people to transmit the virus.
"Let's join hands, go out and sneeze with open mouth in public. Spread the virus," he said. The police said that a case has been registered against him. “The person who put this post, saying people should go out and sneeze and spread the virus, has been detained. His name is Mujeeb and he works in a software company. A case has been registered," said Sandeep Patil, Joint Commissioner (CCB, Bengaluru).
The leading IT company Infosys also responded by saying that the act done by Mohammad is against the code of conduct and commitment of responsible sharing of their company. “Infosys has completed its investigation on the social media post by one of its employees and we believe that this is not a case of mistaken identity,” Infosys said.
“The social media post by the employee is against Infosys' code of conduct and its commitment to responsible social sharing. Infosys has a zero-tolerance policy towards such acts and has accordingly, terminated the services of the employee," it added. Earlier, Infosys vacated one of its old buildings after one employee was suspected to be infected.
