PattanaPragathi program aims at overall development and maintenance of all the cities and towns in the State and ensures basic amenities in towns and a plan to meet future demands of coming generations.
To inquire about the program, Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD) Minister KT Rama Rao made a surprise visit to Jangaon. The minister saw various basic facilities such as sanitation works, drinking water supply, and other works at Dharmakanchabasti.
He also inquired with the local people if all the amenities are properly implemented there. Later, he also asked the officials to launch more ‘Swach’ vehicles.
“As per the new Municipal Act, councilors will be held responsible if they cannot ensure greenery in their areas. They need to achieve at least 85% survival rate of plants,” KTR said.
He further directed the officials to make sure that all the private lands are cleaned and if they are found unclean, then they shall be fined. He said that the 10-day PattanaPragathi program should become a platform to start construction of vegetable and non-vegetarian market yards, parks, open gyms, public toilets for women and men.
The program was designed by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and it received positive reviews from the public.
