Legislation Introduced By US Lawmakers
The House of Representatives has been introduced by legislation which is made by two new US lawmakers, in order to protect the work authorization of H-4 Visa workers and mostly the families of Indian white-collared executives having H-1B visa.
An H-4 visa is issued by the US Citizenship and Immigration Services to an immediate family member of the H-1B visa holder who is allowed to lawfully come and stay in the States. According to the Department of Homeland Security, DHS stated that it was going to publish the long-time awaited regulation that would prevent the work authorization to the family of H-4 Visa. The two lawmakers from California introduced the legislation of protection of working authorization just some days after the DHS stated about publishing the regulation.
The plan was announced by the trump administration about reversing the ongoing DHS regulation, which allows the spouses to work.
Taking into consideration, for the 100,000 unemployed spouses, Eshoo and Lofgren, the lawmakers, led 13 Members of Congress in writing to DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, urging her to reconsider DHS's proposal.
