Mahatma Gandhi’s Image on Liquor Bottles
Maka Brewery, the Israel based company, has used the image of Mahatma Gandhi on liquor bottles. Eby J Jos, Chairman of Mahatma Gandhi National Foundation has written a letter to both Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take immediate action.
“The image used in the beer bottle has been designed by a person named Amit Shimoni,” Jos stated.
Chairman of Pala-based Foundation in Kerala said that the image is a mockery of Gandhi wearing a cooling glass, a T-Shirt and an overcoat.
“On his website hipstoryart.com, there are many pictures and products of Gandhi being made a mockery,” he added.
Jos in his letter had requested Modi and Netanyahu to instruct Maka Brewery to remove the label as early as possible.
“Gandhiji who is against liquor consumption once said that he would ban all liquor manufacturing and sales in one go if he has that power,” Jos revealed.
