Missouri Stands For The Unborn - Passes Bill To Ban Abortion At 8 Weeks
Republican-led Senate of Missouri on Thursday passed a bill that bans abortion post 8 weeks of pregnancy.
The proposal placed includes exceptions only in cases of medical emergencies and even not in cases of rape. If in case any doctor violates this he would face imprisonment for 5 to 15 years.
State Sens. Dave Schatz and Caleb Rowden said in a statement, "Today the Missouri Senate passed one of the most pro-life bills in the United States: Missouri Stands for the Unborn Act."
Friday was the deadline and the act was passed just hours before that. However, it still requires another round of approval before it makes its way to Gov. Mike Parson.
