More Than 800 IT Technicians In Isolation

The outbreak of COVID-19 and the lockdown of states to prevent the spread of coronavirus have threatened several IT companies, including those of foreign origin. The most suffering are the employees and workers of these companies.

Likely, over 800 Hyderabad technicians, which included some foreigners who come to the city as guests of various companies, have been put in self-isolation in view of the coronavirus outbreak.

IT and Industries Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan said, “As of last week, 800 returnees from other countries who work in the IT sector have been put in isolation. This includes foreigners too.”

These technicians have been quarantined for at least 20 days and the total number of those being isolated from the IT sector will also be identified soon.

Government and companies have joined hands to isolate and monitor the ones suspected to be affected by coronavirus. “We have shared with them the advisory and have told them that every individual has to be quarantined,” One of the officials from Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC) said.

Coronavirus has infected over 500 people in India with 10 deaths being confirmed in the country.
