Package Pumps Wet Run On Wednesday

Package 6 of Kaleshwaram irrigation project consists of seven 124.5 Mega Watt capacity pumps, two of the pumps were successfully test run in April last week. And now the irrigation department officials were busy on Tuesday, preparing themselves for the wet run of two more pumps on Wednesday.

When all the seven pumps are fully operational, they have a capacity of lifting 634 Cusecs of water. The individual pumps lift water to a height of 110 meters vertically, arriving from the two tunnels from Yellampalli reservoir nearby.

The package 6 is a 4,961 crore project and a critical component of the entire Kaleshwaram project. The water which is lifted from this project pumps is taken to the Nandimedaram project, which makes marking of halfway spot to the Mid Manair Project.
