Satya Nadella's father BN Yugandhar passes away at the age of 82

Bukkapuram Nadella Yugandhar was a civil servant who worked for the Indian Administrative Service of the Government of India and father of "Microsoft Chief Executive Officer" Satya Nadella, passed away here on Friday after a brief illness at the age of 80.

He is a retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer who served in the Prime Minister’s Office and the Planning Commission, He took his last breath in his house in Banjara Hills.

BN Yugandhar was a 1962 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer. He also acted as director of Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration at Mussoorie in Uttarakhand.

It is yet to be known whether Satya Nadella will fly to Hyderabad for the last rites of his father or not.

However, After hearing the demise of Bukkapuram Nadella Yugandher, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu tweeted, “Saddened by the demise of former bureaucrat Shri B N Yugandhar. He was an upright, committed officer. He worked for the upliftment of the marginalized sections of the society & to improve life in rural India. My heartfelt condolences to his family members. May his soul rest in peace.”

Union Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, tweeted, "Pained by the demise of retired IAS officer Shri BN Yugandhar. A sincere, honest and upright officer, he was instrumental in the implementation of several schemes for the welfare of the poor and marginalized. My deepest condolences to his family, especially to his son Mr. Satya Nadella."
