Saudi Prince to India on a Two-day Visit
Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud planned to visit India before Pulwama attack. But due to the tensions in India, his tour was postponed.
Now, the two-day tour of the prince to India was confirmed. He is visiting India, one day after visiting Pakistan.
On his visit to Islamabad, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for bilateral cooperation worth $20 billion.
Mohammed bin Salman who was honored with Pakistan's highest civilian honor called it a country "dear" to all Saudis.
According to the sources, Saudi Arabia's investments in Pakistan can’t be compared with India. Saudi Arabia was investing in India because of its robust economy growing at nearly 7 percent, but not to bail the country out!
The 2016 joint statement by the two countries after Narendra Modi's visit, had very strong references to combating terrorism.
They also said, "there was an evolution in the way they were looking at terrorism per se" and the Pakistan narrative on Kashmir was not acceptable because of far better India's position.
India was one of eight identified strategic partners by Saudi Arabia with the other Asian countries are Japan, China, and South Korea, sources from Saudi said.
