As a part of the initiative, each of the applicants is expected to provide details of their social media accounts to the authorities that have to be provided for a period of last five years.
Under this new move, it is also expected that over 15 million applicants shall get affected for completing their visa applications every year. The new move has already been implemented in the online visa application web portal last week, making it a mandatory procedure that must be completed by each applicant.
Under the new implementations, it is also obvious that Diplomatic applicants and official visa applicants will not be considered for declaration of their Social media profile details.
The state department of US had first made the whereabouts of connecting social media profile details with the Visa applications in 2018, April. The process was officially announced by President Trump for both immigrants and non-immigrant visa applicants.
The implementation is also considered as a part of the extreme vetting campaign introduced by President Trump for each foreigner who wishes to enter the US.
