South Hong Kong: One Dead after Oil Tanker Catches Fire
One person is dead after an oil tanker caught fire at the south of one of Hong Kong's main islands.
Police said that the fire broke out aboard a vessel transporting kerosene as it passed near Lamma Island around 11:30 AM local time.
As the fire catches the ship, the crew jumped into the water, and 21 of them were rescued by marine police boats.
One dead body was found and pulled out of the water, police said.
Residents of Lamma and nearby Lantau Island said that they heard a loud bang and their furniture and windows were shaken at that time.
Lamma resident posted on Facebook that they thought it was an earthquake because the windows shook very badly without any wind observed.
