Special Purpose Vehicle for Ayyappa Devotees

The Cabinet decided to set up a government-owned Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for increasing the facilities for devotees in Sabarimala, Pamba, Nilakkal, and other transit points.

Already it is decided to develop the infrastructure facilities as per Sabarimala Master Plan. The decision to form the non-profit SPV has been taken as a part of Sabarimala development projects.

These projects are to be implemented by utilizing annual Budget and KIIFB funds. The SPV will have a chief secretary as chairman and a governing body comprising department secretaries, and Travancore Devasom Board commissioner as the convener of the governing body.

As only eight months are left for the Sabarimala season, the government is making the things fast. The government will also ensure that all development activities take place are environment-friendly.
