Summon Issued To Amazon By The Union Labour Ministry Regarding Layoffs
Everything has its repercussions, and the mass layoffs from the tech giants are facing it now. Recently, Amazon India was summoned by the Union Labour Ministry and asked to appear before the deputy chief labor commissioner in Bengaluru.
Many other large companies have also laid off many employees, but this time only Amazon is summoned over the case filed by the employee union Nescent Information Technology Employee Senate. The NITES has alleged that Amazon India has violated the labour law, and their decision badly impacts the employees' families.
The Union Labour Ministry asked Amazon to be present before the commissioner with all the pieces of evidence that they have and on what basis that mass layoffs have occurred. If they fail to do so, they will also be fined, and strict action will be taken against them.
This matter is not only affecting the company's reputation but has also changed the lives of many. After this decision from the Ministry, the employees felt a sigh of relief.
