Suresh Raina, Guru Randhawa Among 34 Others Arrested In Raid At Mumbai Club
Cricketer Suresh Raina along with 34 people that includes Singer Guru Randhawa and Sussane Khan have been arrested by police from Dragonfly club situated in Andheri in the early hours of Tuesday, at around 2.30 am.
Police also arrested hotel staff members for keeping establishment open beyond permissible time limit and other celebrities for not following Covid norms such as social distancing, not wearing face mask. The accused were later released on bail.
The accused were booked under Section 188 (Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), section 269 (showing negligence in following Covid norms ), 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of IPC and provisions of NMDA.
In a released statement, it said, “Suresh was in Mumbai for a shoot which extended to late hours and was invited by a friend for a quick dinner post the same prior to him taking his flight back to Delhi. He was not aware of the local timings and protocols.”
The raid carried on by police were followed by laws passed by Maharashtra government declaring a night curfew in municipal corporation areas as a precautionary step amid growing concerns over a new coronavirus variant spreading in Britain apart from putting restrictions on flight movements.
