The Hartford Launches First India Global Technology Centre in Hyderabad
Hyderabad has been chosen as the first Indian base for The Hartford, which has launched its Global Technology Centre in the city’s Financial District. The 1,60,000-square-foot facility marks the company’s formal entry into India.
Inaugurated in the presence of Telangana Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu, the centre is designed to operate in a start-up-like environment, enabling rapid prototyping, digital engineering, and seamless collaboration across time zones with hubs in Hartford, Charlotte, Chicago, and Columbus.
The facility will play a central role in the company’s enterprise-wide technology transformation, focusing on artificial intelligence, advanced digital capabilities, and engineering excellence. Over the next few years, the workforce is expected to scale to approximately 1,200 employees.
The minister highlighted Hyderabad’s track record of attracting global corporations, noting that technology giants such as Microsoft and Google established major development centres in the city during their India expansion phases.
The launch further strengthens Hyderabad’s position as a premier destination for global capability centres (GCCs), reinforcing its reputation for skilled talent, infrastructure, and innovation-driven growth.
