Twenty Indian Army personnel including a colonel and 43 Chinese troops were killed in a violent face-off between both the countries in the Galwan Valley in eastern Ladakh on Monday.
United States officials said that they are closely monitoring the situation following a fierce clash between Indian and Chinese forces in eastern Ladakh and hopes that the differences will be resolved peacefully.
This comes hours after India said that 20 of its Army personnel were killed in violent clashes with Chinese troops at Galway Valley at the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
However, both the countries have mutually decided to de-escalate and the US supports a peaceful resolution of the current situation.
Also, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump had a conversation on call on June 2 in which they discussed about the tensions prevailing at the Indo-China border.
US experts on the region have commented on the India-China violent face-off and said that the Chinese military’s aggressive maneuvers posed a threat to the entire region.
