Vaccine In India Soon, Government to Use Schools, Anganwadis and Buildings
India could be early in rolling out vaccines for the coronavirus. State governments could use Anganwadi centres, schools, panchayat buildings and other such buildings to carry out the vaccination drive.
Government could also use Union health ministry’s digital platform that would involve sending SMSes and generating a QR code after each jab to track the beneficiaries. Each person that has been given a immune vaccine would be linked with their Aadhaar cards to avoid duplication and to track beneficiaries.
India has also been pacing ahead in developing the vaccine that could be available soon for the mass and affordable. Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla assured that the development and trial of Covid-19 (Novel Coronavirus) vaccine in India is under control.
Harsh Vardhan said, “ ‘Several countries have been approaching us for receiving vaccine supply. I reiterate our Prime Minister’s commitment that India’s vaccine production and delivery capacity will be used to help all humanity in fighting this crisis. India will also help interested countries in enhancing their cold chain and storage capacities for the delivery of vaccines.”
The coronavirus vaccine, once available, would be distributed under a special COVID-19 inoculation programme, using the processes, technology and network of the existing UIP.
Unlikely, a survey suugest that Indians are very positive on receiving vaccine as early as possible whereas people in advanced countries such as France, Spain and Japan share a growing reluctance about getting vaccinated.
