India may get the COVID-19 vaccine by March 2021 as the country is heading fast towards vaccine development with two of the manufacturers already in phase-3 trial and one in the phase-2 trial.
Pune’s Serum Institute of India (SII) has opened up on saying that vaccine Covishield will be ready by December but the vaccines will come to the market in March 2021.
Pune-based drug maker signed a deal with British-Swedish company AstraZeneca to manufacture COVID-19 vaccine candidate, developed by the University of Oxford. The final stage of the clinical trial of Oxford’s COVID-19 vaccine has already started in the country.
