Venezuela to increase oil exports to India - US NSA warns India
The Trump administration had imposed sanctions against Venezuela’s state-owned oil company seeking to cripple the government of embattled President Nicolas Maduro by cutting off its main source of cash. The sanctions prohibit most American businesses from engaging in transactions with the oil company in Venezuela.
Since these sanctions which were imposed from January 28, Venezuela is trying to increase sales to India which is its second largest customer after the United States.
However, in reaction to this, the US National Security Adviser John Bolton has warned India. He tweeted "Nations and firms that support (Venezuelan President Nicolas) Maduro's theft of Venezuelan resources will not be forgotten. The US will continue to use all of its powers to preserve the Venezuelan people's assets and we encourage all nations to work together to do the same."
