International Kabbadi Player Shot Dead During Tournament

An international kabaddi player, Sandeep Singh Nangal Ambian, was shot dead yesterday on Monday, 14 March, while he was attending a kabaddi tournament in Malian village, Punjab's Jalandhar.
The 40-year-old player was rushed to a hospital. However, doctors declared him brought dead. A video of the murder is doing rounds on social media.
As per the reports, the player was shot dead by four unidentified assailants when he was coming out of the tournament place. They reportedly arrived in a car and fled the scene after shooting him.
The police said they suspected that at least 8-10 bullets were fired at the player Sandeep. "Further investigations are going on and more details will be known after the post-mortem examination," said Jalandhar police officers.
Sandeep had settled in England along with his family. However, he used to conduct kabaddi tournaments in Punjab. Shiromani Akali Dal leader Sukhbir Singh Badal, has strongly condemned Sandeep's murder and demanded the immediate arrest of the killers.
He posted on Twitter as "I strongly condemn the murderous attack on Sandeep Nangal Ambiyan, a promising Kabaddi player and his untimely demise is a never-ending loss to the Kabaddi world. Condolences to his family and kabaddi lovers, I demand immediate arrest of the killers".
