Producers Revolt Against Vishal, Lock Down his Office
The Tamilnadu Film Producers’ Council (TFPC) in Chennai witnessed high drama on Wednesday as a group of 300 film producers locked the offices demanding the resignation of TFPC President Vishal.
The group of producers accused Vishal of misappropriate use of funds and not adhering to the bylaws of the council. They alleged that Vishal has not fulfilled the promises he made before elections.
They also accused him of involving in a lot of criminal activities and demanded that he should hand over the accounts of the council and resign.
The producers also alleged that after the former secretary resigned, the council did not call for a meeting to nominate a replacement and instead nominated Kathiresan in his place without consulting the others.
The protestors also alleged that Vishal organised events without getting the General Committee approval, which was a violation of the bylaws.
A few producers who supported Vishal earlier have now turned against him and joined the protest. As Vishal is not available, the producers indulged in a verbal war with TFPC secretary Kathiresan. Now the Kollywood is waiting to see the consequences of this controversy and what Vishal has to say on this matter.
